At Rogers' Funeral Homes, we offer a variety of service options.
It is important to know that the services we offer are
intended to help families in their grieving and healing. The
following information lists the services that we offer. We also
provide other services upon request.
We trust that you will find our costs to be very reasonable, and
competitive for the area. It is our goal to provide the best
possible service at a fair price to the families we are privileged
to serve. We are always available to answer any questions about
costs and planning services and can provide services on almost any
budget.
**Message from funeral director Kevin
Rogers:
You and your family are largely in control of funeral costs. But
please be realistic and prepared. Due to the depth of services,
merchandise, man power, equipment, and cash advance items that are
being provided to COMPLETE a funeral, even the most basic cremation
can cost about $2,000.00 when everything is added up.
Basic full service funerals can vary from about $6,000 to
$10,000 once you include cemetery costs, casket, vault, and cash
advance items. We tell you this so you can be prepared. Death is
inevitable and not being prepared or educated can be a traumatic
experience. We see it often. When you are not financially prepared,
it makes for a very tough time on family and friends. We offer
complete Pre-Planning options with a financing available for your
convenience. Every family we serve is 100% in control of funeral
costs depending on the services they choose.

We offer a wide choice of services. No
matter what your needs require, we have the professional staff and
equipment to meet all of your requests. There are FOUR areas
of focus when planning at the time of a death. They are
services, merchandise, final disposition, and cash advances. These
make up total funeral costs.
1.SERVICES: Our services include the things that
we do as a staff. This includes, the basic services of
conducting the arrangement conference, planning the funeral or
memorial in its entirety, obtaining the necessary permits and
authorizations, placing obituary notices, as well as a
proportionate share of our overhead costs of buildings, equipment
and 24 hour on call staff, working with Pastors, insurance
companies, attorneys, nursing facilities, different counties, and
doctors.
Specific items included in our traditional
services:
- Embalming (not required by law
but is usually necessary for a viewing)
- Other Preparation of the Body
(dressing, basic cosmetics, casketing, hairdressing)
- Use of facilities and
equipment for visitation,
funeral
service, memorial service and visitations
- Other services - graveside
service,
interments
and/or sheltering of remains, forwarding/receiving remains from out
of state.
- Use of automotive equipment -
first call, hearse, flower car, service vehicle.
2. MERCHANDISE: These are
items you and your family choose. These items may include the
casket, outer burial container or "Vault", urn, service
folders, register book, and acknowledgement cards.
- Caskets vary
greatly in design, quality, and eye appeal.
They
are made of wood, steel, copper & bronze.
- Outer Burial Containers are
what the casket is placed into for burial.
They
are made of concrete and vary greatly in strength. They not only
protect your loved one and the casket but also serve the purpose of
supporting the weight of the earth. Caskets do not weigh enough to
do this alone. Most all cemeteries require an outer burial
container.
3. FINAL DISPOSITION: This is
the difference between earth burial, entombment, cremation,
donation or other means. These options are family preference. We
can certainly provide more information about each if you wish. The
most common expense here is the "Opening and Closing" of a grave
plot. Prices vary from cemetery to cemetery ($400- $1400). Most
cemeteries have overtime charges on weekends and holidays.
4. CASH ADVANCE ITEMS: These
are things that other people or businesses provide. These
items can be included on the funeral statement as a service to the
family. These items may be:
- Certified Copies of the
Death Certificate - Montgomery County : currently $22.00 each
- Honorariums for Clergy,
Musicians, and Lunch : Average honorarium $100-$150.
- Flowers: prices vary,
average casket spray $200-$300.
- Paid Obituary or Notices
(Dayton Daily News is currently $5.45 per line)
- Monument or Grave
Marker/Final Lettering: prices vary, usually $100-$150.
-
Cemetery Lot (Prices vary depending on cemetery you
choose)
- Additional
transportation above that which is already included in our
services.
We find that the average complete traditional funeral today is
around $8,500.00 (regardless of the funeral home you choose)
including all standard items listed above. The biggest variables
include the services, casket, vault and cemetery expenses. A very
basic traditional service can be less than $6000 or a very
elaborate one can be more than $15,000. Here at Rogers' Funeral
Home, we specialize in providing excellent, personalized funeral
service to all of our families no matter how much or little you
decide to spend. We offer discounts, but do not consider ourselves
a "discount" funeral home. We are proudly family owned and
operated, not a big corporation from out of state (i.e., Newcomer,
SCI firms), we are members of your community, and we often provide
our personal cell numbers to our family's because we consider you
family and friends. We hope that having a personal relationship
with your funeral director is important to you. Families have
placed their trust in us for over 50 years; we wouldn't still be
here if we did not treat everyone fairly and with friendship.
