Founders
E. Lee & Vanice (Wenger) Rogers, founded Rogers' Funeral Home in Trotwood in 1959. In 1977, Lee and his son, Dean Rogers, purchased the Holp Funeral Home at 324 W. Main St., in New Lebanon, Ohio from Gladys Holp and her son Bud Holp. The late Wilbur Holp Sr. and his wife Gladys, were the founders of Holp Funeral home and staples in the New Lebanon Community. Lee retired in 1980 while Dean became owner and served many families' and made many friends. He has continued the family business, while welcoming his son, Kevin Rogers in 2005. Kevin has become the third generation of Rogers' to provide "Sincerity in Service" to our communities.

Dean grew up in Trotwood with his 3 siblings Debbie, Dian, and Doug. He graduated in 1969 from Trotwood-Madison High School and went on to attend The Ohio State University (Go Buckeyes!) after deciding his dreams of going into the Radio & Television field were not going to happen, he decided to attend Indianapolis College of Mortuary Science and go into the family business with his father. Dean married his longtime girlfriend, Becky (Keeney) & they had 3 sons. The rest is history! Dean has been a prominent figure in the Trotwood & New Lebanon Communities for over 40 years now. Even though Dean is not involved in the day to day operations, he still enjoys meeting families' and seeing the many friends he's made over the years.

Many people may not know that Dean has always been a musician. He's played drums in several bands dating back to junior high. He currently enjoys playing blues harmonica and percussion in Dayton and beyond and is affectionately known as "Deano" in the music community.


Kevin Rogers

Kevin is a 2001 graduate of Brookville High School where he was captain of the football and baseball teams. He then went on to attend Bowling Green State University and was an active member of the International Study Abroad program in Perth, Australia. He graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Child and Family Community Services in 2005. Kevin now resides in Brookville, is a member of the AMVETS Post 1789, and is a Trustee in the Greater Montgomery County Funeral Directors Association.


Derek Bales   Derek L. Bales

Derek attended Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science where he was a Class Representative and Laboratory Assistant, and graduated Summa Cum Laude in the Class of Spring 2010. Before entering funeral service, he was a Corrections Officer for the Preble County Sheriff's Office for 10 years. He lives in Eaton with his wife and children.

Dawn is a 1990 graduate from Dixie High School. Her family moved to New Lebanon when she was 1 year old and she's been a resident ever since. She was employed with General Motors for 11 years and left there in 2004 to become a stay at home mom. She has two sons, Nick and Nate. Besides G.M. she has always worked in the New Lebanon area. Dawn loves her community. She is very involved with her church where she has been a member for close to 30 years. She also coaches t-ball and soccer.

Gene Bashor

Gene is a 14 year employee at Rogers' Funeral Homes and a 1956 graduate of Trotwood Madison High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1961-1963 as a Chaplain's Assistant. Prior to joining Rogers' he was Co-owner of Noffsinger & Bashor Appliances in Trotwood for 30 years. He has been a dog obedience instructor with Gem City Dog Obedience Club for 40 years, a member of Dayton Kennel Club, Miami Valley Shetland Sheepdog Club, and Golden Retriever Club of America. Gene is also an avid gardener. He is a member of the American Conifer Society, American Hosta Society, and previous President of the Miami Valley Hosta Society. Gene and his wife Marcia are lifetime members of the Trotwood Church of the Brethren.
